With latest technologies and equipment dedicated to tests for diseases.

  • X- ray : X-rays are type of electro-magnetic radiation with the ability to see through a person’s skin and reveal images of the bones beneath it. We mainly focus on X-ray radiography and use safe and appropriate measures so that the diagnostic benefits of x-ray scans significantly outweigh the risks.
  • Ultrasound:
    • Musculoskeletal (MSK) Ultrasound: Ultrasound imaging uses high frequency sound waves transmitted through a handheld device (transducer) to examine organs, tissues and blood vessels.
A Musculoskeletal (MSK) Ultrasound is a specialized exam that looks specifically at your muscles and joints. MSK ultrasound technologists have special training in looking at joints, muscles, ligaments, nerves, and tendons. A MSK ultrasound is a specialized technique which uses sound waves above 20 kHz to examine muscles and joints.
It is a safe, non-invasive, inexpensive, sensitive, quick procedure with no radiation hazards. Images are acquired in real time.
This procedure can even be performed in children.
Performing MSK ultrasound need special training to identify abnormality in muscles, ligaments, nerves, tendons and joints(both large and small).
  • Doppler Ultrasound: A transducer is passed lightly over the skin above a blood vessel. It sends and receives sound waves that are amplified through a microphone. The sound waves bounce off solid objects, including blood cells. The movement of blood cells causes a change in the pitch of the reflected sound waves. This is called the Doppler effect. If there is no blood flow, the pitch does not change.
Information from the reflected sound waves can be used to make graphs or pictures that show the flow of blood through the blood vessels.
    .
  • Clinical Biochemistry:  It usually refers to the analysis of blood plasma or serum. They test the serum for chemicals present in blood. These include a wide array of substances, such as lipids, blood sugar, enzymes, and hormones.
  • Immunology: This test uses the concept of antigen-antibody interaction as a diagnostic tool. It measures the level of antibodies in the blood, which are useful for confirming a rheumatological diagnosis. It especially includes ENA panel test which was initiated for the first time in Nepal by immunology lab of NCRD at half of the cost and made it affordable to many.
  • Hematology: This test includes laboratory assessments of blood formation and blood disorders.Works with whole blood to do full blood counts, and blood films as well as many other specialized tests such as ESR, Staining etc.
  • NailfoldCapillaroscopy: A useful tool, available only at NCRD in Nepal which is used to identify high risk for development of vascular and visceral complications and death of scleroderma patients.

3. Thermography Test

What is a Thermography Test? Thermography is a non-invasive diagnostic tool that uses infrared technology to detect heat patterns and blood flow in the body by using a special camera called microbolometer. By capturing images of temperature variations, it aids in identifying abnormal physiological changes, which can be indicative of health issues such as inflammation, infection, or even cancer. This test is particularly useful for early detection of breast disease and assessing pain and vascular disorders.

 4. Iontophoresis Test

What is an Iontophoresis Test? Iontophoresis is a non-invasive method to deliver medication through the skin using a mild electrical current. Primarily used in physical therapy, it helps manage and reduce pain, inflammation, and muscle spasms, especially in conditions like bursitis or tendinitis. This technique can also be employed for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) treatment, effectively reducing sweat production in targeted areas such as hands and feet.
