Dr. Bibek KC is a Consultant Immunopathologist with expertise in the diagnosis and laboratory evaluation of autoimmune and immune-mediated diseases. With a strong foundation in pathology and advanced training in immunopathology, he plays an important role in supporting clinicians with accurate laboratory diagnosis and interpretation of complex immunological investigations.
After completing his MD in Pathology from the Institute of Medicine (IOM), Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), Dr. KC served as an Assistant Professor at the same institute, where he was actively involved in medical education and pathology training. He also worked as a Consultant Pathologist at Grande International Hospital, gaining extensive experience in diagnostic pathology and laboratory medicine.
Driven by his passion for clinical immunology, Dr. KC pursued advanced training in Immunopathology at Medanta – The Medicity, New Delhi, India, further strengthening his expertise in autoimmune diagnostics and specialized immunology testing.
Currently, Dr. Bibek KC serves as the Consultant Immunopathologist at the National Center for Rheumatic Diseases (NCRD) and the National Laboratory for Immunology Research (NLIR). He works closely with rheumatologists and other specialists to facilitate the early diagnosis and effective management of autoimmune diseases through accurate laboratory investigations and expert interpretation of immunology reports.
Dr. KC has also played a key role in expanding access to advanced immunology diagnostics in Nepal. With the introduction of specialized tests such as HLA-B51 and HLA-DR4, patients and clinicians can now access important investigations within the country, reducing the need to send samples abroad and enabling faster clinical decision-making.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. KC is actively involved in medical education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and promoting awareness of autoimmune diseases among healthcare professionals and the public.
